On the second day of the annual five-day event, the King’s niece, aged 42, sought solace in the company of former England rugby star Mike, sharing affectionate hugs throughout the day. She also appeared delighted to have her father, Mark, by her side, engaging in conversation and sharing smiles while at the Badminton Estate.
Dressed in her customary navy riding attire, Zara, who shares daughters Mia, ten, and Lena, five, and son, Lucas, three, with Mike, remained focused as she prepared for the competition, which began yesterday and continues until Sunday.
Donning white jodhpurs under her long, double-breasted coat, the royal completed her ensemble with a matching navy and white hat as she guided her beloved gelding, Class Affair, through the course.
Following her performance, Zara was photographed sharing a tender moment with her proud husband, while also seen conversing with her father, Mark, who parted ways with Princess Anne in 1992 after 19 years of marriage.
Joining Mark in the audience was his girlfriend, Belgian equestrian Florence Standaert, believed to be in her 40s. Florence’s former partner, Thomas Ryckewaert, managed the Waregem horse trials in Belgium until his passing at age 63 in 2019. Mark, in 2022, designed a cross-country course at Waregem, which is currently run by Florence, as reported by The Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Zara maintained her effortless elegance, pairing her navy attire with knee-high black riding boots for today’s event. After showcasing her equestrian skills, the late Queen’s granddaughter enjoyed a refreshing stroll in the nearby lake barefoot. She later swapped her formal competition attire for denim shorts, a navy jacket, and a white cap.
