Chisha Mubambe aka Chromez was born in Gaborone, Botswana to Zambian parents, his mother being a business woman and his father a print media journalist. He started his career in the radio industry in 2011 at Pan African Radio 105.1FM, a year later after auditioning at every radio station in Lusaka, at the brink of quitting trying to break into the industry he did what he called his “Last audition” at Power FM after being convinced to do so by a close friend that had caught wind of the new radio station that was looking for fresh radio talent. After auditioning and not being optimistic of being called back, he got called by the radio station for a meeting with the CEO Mr. Kenny Tonga a week after he auditioned, in the meeting he was informed that his services were required and that he would be aided to enhance his “raw talent” to become a full blow professional in the radio industry.

ZambianMusic.net comfirms that after 3 months of training, he was entrusted with handling the drive time show called Route997 at the age of 19, it is there that he rose up the ranks in the industry being recognized by heavyweights like Mich (Rock FM), 3rillmatic (Rock FM), K-Smash (Hot FM), the late DJ LBC, Chi (Hot FM), DJ Stretch, So Sick (Sun FM), Tivo Shikapwasha and many others from radio stations like Comet FM, Metro FM, Q FM and Radio Phoenix. During his time hosting the show, he has interviewed many high profile celebrities including Sulu, Cleo Ice Queen, Slapdee, Zone Fam, Proverb (from South Africa), Owas Mwape, Bobby East, Ruff Kaida, Killa Beats, Tio, Pompi, Mag44, Abel Chungu, Salma, Rico Ricardo, B Flow, Alex Usifo Omiagbo (Veteran Nigerian actor), Angela Nyirenda, Anne Kansiime (from Uganda), Urban Hype and many others.

He also hosts the Power Top 40 every Saturday from 10a.m to 2p.m, the first Top 40 count down to air in Zambia hosted by a Zambian Presenter, the show has gained a massive following over the course of time that it has aired. Chromez has coined himself as the “Voice of Lusaka”, a term that he says must not be taken literally but as an attitude. On his shows he doesn’t shy away from airing his views on any matter that is presented to him which is what he tries to encourage his listeners to do too, he wants them to be free to express themselves and be proud of where they are from. Chromez’ style can be described as rapid shots of information coupled with warm witty undertones that have proved to be happily accepted and unique. His brand is managed by Rednovacane, a company he co-founded in 2014.
The Voice Of Lusaka is also a voice over artist that has voiced adverts for almost all the big companies in Zambia.
